1000 club

The Federation have intiated a new fundraising program called the 1000 Club where we are asking companies to to donate just £50.00. This is to help with our Global Grass Roots Inclusion Program (Global G.R.I.P.) which is recieving ever increasing requests for Rock-It-Ball to be introducing into different countries.

You may or may not be aware that we are striving for Olympic recognition and to do so we must adhere to certain criteria. The most important criteria is that we must have 75 countries playing Rock-it-ball on 4 of the 5 International Olympic Committee regions.

To enable us to visit a country we need about £12,000 and if we can get the 1000 companies needed we will have £50,000 this will aloow us to visit another 4 countries.

So, if you know people that run a company why not ask if they will help a British sport get into the olympics by donating just £50.00.

If you are a company visiting our website and would like to donate £50.00 please contact our Commissioner Craig Buttery who will explain more about what we are trying to achieve.

If you are an individual again contact our Commissioner on 01642 355854 or 07809 716423 email

Hall of Fame Class of 2008
Feb 04, 2008 at 03:01 PM

Image Hall of Fame Statement - This is a statement on behalf of the 2008 Hall of Fame Committee.  In the first place we would like to acknowledge the hard work done by a large number of people to help bring the exciting sport of Rock-It-Ball to the world.

In this first year of the Rock-It-Ball Hall of Fame three people received sufficient nominations to be considered by the committee.  Choosing between the three nominees was very difficult but in the end the blind voting process produced a unanimous result.   We would like to offer our congratulations to Mr Craig Buttery and Mr Tom Hildreth who will be the inaugural inductees into the Rock-It-Ball Hall of Fame.

Craig Buttery
Although Rock-It-Ball was growing very rapidly when Craig got involved his experience and dedication has given it an incredible turbo-boost.  Craig has set up the whole administrative structure of the sport with a view to growing it worldwide and has been instrumental in obtaining large amounts of grant funding for the sport.  His energy and dedication are exemplary and he has used his experience to give the sport credibility and massive growth. Craig has been a great force in moving the sport of Rock-It-Ball forward providing it with a sound administrative structure, thus giving it real credibility and status on the world stage.  There would probably not have been a World Cup and there would be no national program, coach or umpire program.  He uses his experience wisely to advise, guide and lead those people who are involved in the National Governing Bodies.  Quite simply Craig has made Rock-It-Ball a full-blown and credible sport. The grass root work Craig has put in and his enthusiasm have advanced Rock-it-ball to a higher more competitive level and more importantly has allowed others to join what is one of the great new sports of the decade. He works tirelessly to move the sport on and his dedication is exemplary - he asks for nothing but gives all.

Tom Hildreth
The nominations for Tom impressed not because of his skills as a Rockiteer, but because of the way he has been instrumental in the development of Rock-It-Ball wherever he can, whether that be at his school, air cadets or helping coach juniors on a Saturday afternoon.  He is directly responsible for the introduction of Rock-It-Ball to the Air Cadet organisation and he has been instrumental in the growth of the clubs in the Easingwold area.
Tom has been involved with Rock-It-Ball from the earliest days of prototypes and field trials.  Despite his young years he was very proactive in the development of the sport and he has continued his exceptional involvement as the sport has grown.  He has been directly responsible for the growth of Rock-It-Ball in a number of areas and has achieved a number of milestones including being the first international player to be selected; being the captain of England youth squad and Captain of the winners of first inter-school tournament.  He has become the youngest qualified official and has already achieved his Level 1 coaching badge and has almost completed Level 2, receiving accolades from players he has helped coach. He was invited to be member of board of England Rock-It-Ball Association, where he acts as National Development Officer and is one of the English League Co-ordinators.  He also served on the first rules committee.  For someone of such tender years, Tom’s input and achievements have been outstanding.

The committee would also like to acknowledge the work done by Paul MacMichael who has championed Rock-It-Ball in Scotland and who leads the Scottish Rock-It-Ball Association. Importantly, Paul also captained Scotland to winning the inaugural World Cup.  Paul’s work in Rock-It-Ball in Scotland is highly valued and we will surely see Paul in the Hall of Fame at some future date.

Rhino Sports provide a totally customised sublimated uniform which can include any graphics and design that you want.

IRIBF Executive Director Dr Paul Hildreth said "It all starts with  a white piece of cloth which ends up as a very smart uniform and what is more impressive is that they can do single uniforms which is a great benefit to teams as most companies will only do minimum runs of 4 so Rhino Sports fit the bill for us.
